This is the largest ceramic piece I have ever completed to date! I began this piece early one morning as a a small pinch pot and then I began adding coils and slowly I watched it grow and flatten and lengethen into a very large vessel. Then I pinched it together and it became to vases, then again and it became four seperae pieces that started from the same place and met back together at the top this is where the name "I grew from you but I will always come back" came from. I spent about 34+ hours on just the construction of the piece and the glazing took another full day as well! This piece is incredibly special to me and I hope if it does ever find a home that you may appreciate it's meaning and construction as much as I do. This piece was made as I often say, out of necessity, rolling coils for two days straight healed a lot inside of me, I worked a lot out through this piece and I wouldn't be where I am today without it. I thank this piece everyday for what it's done for me and I look at it every morning when I wake up.
 
These piece are made in conversation with the continuing ties and meanings that connects all of my work. This piece feel like an honest reflection of my experience and place in this world. The fluid figurines flowing into one another and creating new forms as they collide are symbolic of the invisible strings that tie all living things to each other. For it is only through others that we may find ourselves and it’s only through others that I have found myself.
 
PLEASE NOTE: This piece was made from pre-processed clay which means it's foodsafe! This also allows me to do more ornate trimming and for a thinner and lighter piece all together!
